Meet the Photographer
Hey, my name is Sam
From wedding days to family adventures, I capture real moments with a documentary approach and an editorial eye.
About me
Hello, I’m Sam, a family and wedding photographer from Bexley. I’m also a mum of five, which basically makes me a professional at spotting chaos before it happens and pretending everything is fine. It turns out those skills are extremely useful at weddings.
If you’re after natural, candid moments, the stuff that actually feels like you, then we’ll get on brilliantly. I like to blend in, quietly lurk about, and catch the real story of your day without making anyone stand in a field for an hour wondering what to do with their hands.
My approach is documentary at heart. I’m not interested in turning your wedding into a photoshoot or spending hours arranging people into perfect positions. I’d rather give you the space to be fully present and enjoy your day while I quietly document it as it naturally unfolds.
Now, honesty time.
If you want endless group shots, forced smiles, or someone bossing people around like a drill sergeant, you’re probably going to hate me. Truly. Save us both the awkwardness. I photograph moments, not mannequins.
The photographs I create are honest, emotional and a little imperfect in all the right ways. Less about trends, more about memories. Less about posing, more about feeling.
You might notice that some of my work has an editorial feel to it, and that’s probably because I love fashion, design and beautiful styling. But I wouldn’t call myself an editorial photographer.
Traditional editorial photography is often carefully directed, heavily posed and built around creating a very specific image. My approach is a little different. I want your wedding to feel like your wedding, not a photoshoot.
The stylish, editorial feel you see in some of my work usually comes from the wedding itself. Incredible outfits, thoughtful details, great light, interesting venues and couples who aren’t afraid to do things their own way naturally create photographs that feel elevated and unique.
So yes, I love photographs that look beautiful enough to belong in a magazine, but I love them even more when they still feel real. A little movement, a little chaos, a moment that wasn’t planned. Perfect is lovely, but personality wins every time.
I specialise in intimate weddings and London elopements at places like Marylebone Town Hall, Islington and Chelsea. I only take on a limited number of full-day weddings each year and fill the rest of my calendar with smaller celebrations, meaning dates disappear quicker than you’d think.
So if you actually like my work, check my availability early. Like, early early. Before the venue. Before the dress. Before you tell your mum.
Hope to meet you soon.
Sam x
I know what you’re thinking where am I in all of this? Truth is, I’m incredibly awkward in front of the camera (honestly, painful). That’s why there aren’t many photos of me here. But it’s also why I shoot the way I do, documentary, natural, full of movement because I know how it feels to freeze up when a lens is pointed at you. These photos of my kids are my favourites: the real, unposed, blink-and-you’ll-miss-it kind of moments.
